Second MRI results and new invention :-)

I have not been too good about blogging lately! I guess Facebooking takes too much of my time, I need to balance these two passions :-)
Amelia had another MR and CT scan of her head and spine, as recommended by Dr. MacKenzie. The results are a big good and a bit bad. the good thing is that Amelia does not need the surgery as there is no compression of the spinal cord but Dr. Duncan, Amelia's neurosurgeon mentioned that the level of spinal fluids is lower than he would like to see and that the space around the spinal cord is a bit tight so he wants to do another MRI in February and see if the space opens up a bit. If it grows tighter Amelia will have to go through another surgery, the same that she had last year  in July - spinal decompression. So we were not really happy with the results but what can we do? We can sit and worry or we can stand up and move on with accepting attitude, accepting even the fact that she in fact might have this surgery (which is not the end of the world anyway) hoping that she will not have to go through that. The good thing is that she is doing great - progressing wit her gross motor skills development. She is trying to pull up and can even do that on the sofa. She also can stand for few seconds with support, so awesome! It makes us jump into the air. She is definitely more daring. She loves exploring new things as well as playing with familiar toys and books. She likes to play with her brother and friends on the floor and in order to promote proper posture I invented mini table & chair :

Ostatnio troche zaniedbuje sie z pisaniem tego bloga! Zdaje sie ze Facebook zajmuje mi zbyt duzo czasu wieczorami, musze jakos wyposrodkowac te moje dwie pasje ;-)

Amelia miala kolejny rezonans magnetyczny a takze tomografie komputerowa glowy i calego kregoslupa jak zarekomendowal Amelki specjalista z Delaware, Dr. MacKenzie ( dzieciecy chirurg ortopedyczny specjalizujacy sie w dysplazjach szkieletowych). Wyniki testow sa w czesci dobre i w czesci zle. Pozytywne jest to ze Amelka nie musi miec na razie operacji (tej samej co w zeszlym roku   dekompresji) bo nie ma ucisku rdzenia kregowego, ale jednczesnie Dr. Duncan, Amelii neurochirurg, zauwazyl ze poziom plynow wokol kregoslupa jest nieco niski w w strefie czaszkowej i przestrzen jest tam nieco ciasna tak wiec w lutym Amelia bedzie miala nastepne badanie, rezonans, zeby sprawdzic czy sta przestrzen sie powieksza czy zmniejsza. Jesli sie zmniejszy - bedzie to oznaczalo kompresje i kolejna operacje. Ale jestesmy dobrej mysli mimo ze troche zmartwilismy sie tymi wynikami. Coz robic - mozna siedziec, narzekac i sie martwic, a mozna podniesc sie i isc naprzod przyjmujac postawe akceptacji bez wzgledu na okolicznosci, godzac sie nawet z mysla ze Amelka moze znow przechodzic te powazna poniekad operacje i ze i tak nie bylby to koniec swiata... oczywiscie majac nadzieje ze to jednak ja ominie. Najwazniejsze ze Amelka sie rozwija, juz usilnie probuje sie podciagac, a nawet udaje sie jej to na sofie. Potrafi tez przez kilka sekund stanac na nozkach trzymajac sie tylko barierki i to jest cudowne! Niemal skczemy do gory ze szczescia. Jest zdecydowanie bardziej odwazna uwielbia odkrywac nowe rzeczy ale takze bawic sie znanymi zabawkami, "czytac" te same ksiazki. Amelia bardzo lubi bawic sie na podlodze z bratem i przyjaciolmi wiec aby pomoc jej zachowac prawidlowa postawe podczas siedzenia wynalazlam jej mini zestaw krzeselko i stolik. 

 the super big table is a converted  Ikea footrest (just removed the cushion) and the chair is a plain booster sit. She touches the floor and sits straight, has a lot of fun at the same time. She can occupy herself like that for quite some time. Toys don't easily fall off the table. It can be indoor or outdoor:

Amelka siedzi w tym zestawie prosto, dotyka nozkami podlogi i bardzo jej sie to podoba - potrafi zajac sie w ten sposob soba przez dluzsza chwile!
